The PhotographyCorner.com 2006 Photograph of the Year contest begins today (December 19th, 2006) and runs until the end of January, 2007. The Sponsors and Prizes can be viewed on the Photograph of the Year main page, as well as the Rules and the Timeline of the contest.

Before Submitting a Photograph, make sure you are aware of what pieces of information are required with your submission (explained on the How to Submit a Photograph page), as well as what limitations there are as to what photographs can be submitted.

The only way to submit a photograph to the PhotographyCorner.com 2006 Photograph of the Year contest, is to email the photograph to poty@photographycorner.com. The photograph must be attached to the email (not linked to it in a gallery or flickr, etc).

Photo Contest will be at 2pm on 28th October 2006.

The Nikon Photo Contest International has been held by Nikon Corporation since 1969 to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich photographic culture for professionals and amateurs alike. Renowned among photo enthusiasts worldwide, the contest has so far attracted more than 1,220,000 images from a total of 290,000 photographers. In fact, so popular has the contest become among photographers that a total of over 31,000 images were received from more than 10,000 entrants in 117 different countries for the 30th contest alone.

33 prizes awarded by a panel of international photographers

All works will be judged by professional photographers working internationally and 33 winners will be awarded prizes. A further 20 entrants will also be selected as winners and runners-up for the Emerging Talent Award, which commends those aged under 30 for work that possess outstanding expressive power and conveys the energy of youth.
