It has fallen behind the times in its ISO performance, speed and other features (like no self cleaning sensor and no highlight control). I was at Kevin Kubota's Digital Bootcamp in December when he received his D3 and it is an incredible camera and the extra $'s I would have to spend for it and lenses and accessories would be painful, but not as painful as waiting even longer for an upgrade to the 5D. I am now considering switching to Nikon and selling all my Canon equipment and going with the D3.
