Hi, my name is Michael. Normally known around the net as Michaelooi, the unscrupulous guy who writes inane stuffs on his blog for his sheer twisted self absorbing pleasure. Whatever.

But there’s one side of me that not many people know of - that is my naturally given aptitude in arts and photography which have made me millions of bucks. Alright, I lied. I’m just another guy who’s very compassionate in arts and never became good enough of it to be a professional. And it has been 8 years since I’ve been doing this - capturing the sights that I love with my cameras, or any photography equipment I happen to lay my hands on.

But that’s not important really. What’s more important, is that I’ve been given a chance to showcase amongst the worst of my work here to torture your mind, and we’ll have to thanks Digisniper for that. Constructive feedbacks will be appreciated.

My cameras : Canon EOS 350D, Nikon FM2, Sony F707, Canon Ixus 500, Minolta Riva Zoom Pico (sometimes even disposable cameras…)
My photoblog : Capacity Overload
My blog : michaelooi.net

This picture was taken outside my apartment a few months ago. It’s the same view I see when I go to work every morning. It was on that morning, that the shutterbug bit me and got me into capturing this view…

Yah not like hazy old KL, permahaze haha.

UV filter helps a bit but the skies in Penang are lovely, even better in Tioman!

No heavy industries near by.

just a suggestion… ever thought of converting your beautiful pictures into desktop wallpapers and sell it to your friends or commercialize it?

lanatir - Yeah, it’s super hazy now. Everyone’s like coughing like mad in the office…

shaolintiger - I haven’t really utilized filters before in my works. Only a handful of my mechanical exposures have been filtered with a polarizer… But I’m gonna try experiment something soon…

william - No ler… if I share, I’ll make it free. If I wanna make money, I’ll make it big. Cheers dude.

hmm.. a nice one.
It will become even better if the appartment or “thing” at the right side of the photo can be wiped off.
maybe should focus at longer range also ? your camera can do greater than f8 or not ?

agree with Khang on eliminating the silhoutte of the apartment on the left but fail to see why Khang wants to use an aperture smaller than f8 (just my assumption that when he said “greater” he means using a smaller aperture.

buaya69 - Yeah, i need some volunteers please (females only)… heheh

FA - Thanksss…

khang - It’s a deliberate composition. The silhouette is what I want to focus, not the blue sky. If I wanted the blue sky, I might as well paint the whole screen blue, right? ;)

I like the framing with the appt on the right, gives some perspective to the sky, it makes the picture for me.

Yes Buaya my brother, we’ll be posting pictures of girls, we just need willing models and practise :D

Lanatir: I think he means larger f stop number, rather than larger aperture, so yeah smaller aperture.
